It’s really hard to plot a path through the terrain when you don’t have a map.
It means you’ve got to be both the explorer and the traveller at the same time.
Difficult to know in what direction you are heading, what obstacles are up ahead.
But one thing you do have to have is faith; faith that it will be all right in the end.
As Steve Job’s said, “it’s only in hindsight that you can connect the dots” of your path in life.
When you are making them, they are just random markings on the map you create as you go.
One splodge here, another there.
I’ve been trying some new paths, sloshing a little dot here and there in my uncharted territory.
My hope was that they would all, eventually, interlink.
Thankfully that seems to be happening, and with it, new opportunities are coming to me.
Destinations I might have hoped for but had no idea how to get to.
This week, I’ve been very pleased (and rather relieved!) to have a little clarity, like walking into a clearing in the jungle.
It’s given me a little hindsight so I can join some of my dots!
And, in doing so, a little validation that my faith was well placed; I’m on the right path!
I guess the moral of the story is to follow your gut, keep hacking through the jungle, forging your own path, and have faith that, if you give it enough time, you’ll reach the destination you seek.
Even if you don’t yet know exactly what or where that destination is!
