For the last two years, I've put together an annual Wall Calendar of my landscape photography, comprising entirely of pictures I've taken in Britain.
Moreover, I picked all the photos myself and then presented it to you for sale in it's finished form:
But, in line with my desire to both share the creative process with you and, most importantly, bring you into that process as much as possible, this year I did something different!
Firstly, I shot the calendar entirely on the small Italian island where my wife is from; Ischia, in the Mediterranean:
Secondly, I vlogged about the whole thing, so you could get a better feel for the island, the process and the context (you can watch the vlogs here).
Thirdly, instead of me just picking what I thought would be the final shots, I selected 29 of the most promising photos (from about the 500 that I took) and presented them to you last week, to vote on your favourites.
Well, after a great week of 268 votes - and a huge thank you to all who took part! - I'm delighted to present the results!
First up, here's what the graph looked like (yes, I tallied every vote in a spreadsheet!):
And here are those corresponding photos:
Now, to put that in context, starting in reverse order (with the photo that got exactly Zero votes!) here are the photos, as voted by you champions:
N.B. Click on the first photo to open it fully, then scroll through them - when it opens, you may need to scroll down to see the bottom of the photo! ;)
It's interesting to see that the ones with the boldest, dusky sunsetting colours (e.g. purples and oranges) were everyone's favourites (including mine!)
Also, for the most part, our selections would have been the same, but a few that I might have included if it was just me picking them (mostly for their diversity; the aqueduct, boats with the sun on them and a lightning strike by the castle) got some of the fewest votes!
So it's a good job it wasn't me alone picking them then :)
So, in what might be the finished running order, starting with the front cover and ending with the back cover, here is your 2019 Wall Calendar mockup:
Quite a few people have asked me where they can buy one; I haven't opened up the cart on them yet - I'll be doing so next week from my store on my website.
However, I'm only going to be printing a limited number and will offer them to those on my mailing list first - along with an exclusive 35% discount - so if you are keen on getting one (and don't already receive emails from me!) please make sure you join my list using the form below:
I hope you like the way the calendar is coming together. It's been a fun project and it's been great to have you as part of it, both with your voting and previous comments and support of my calendar vlogs.
As always, I really appreciate you joining me on this journey and if you want to share your thoughts in the comments below, I'd love to hear from you 😍
