I thought I'd try to improve my photography skills for my 2019 Wall Calender, in the hope of making it better than previous years.
So, last week I did a Creative Live course on Landscape Photography and planned to put it into practice this week.
Our friends Lucia and Franco very kindly invited us for tea and, fortuitously, they live up the mountain in the centre of the island (i.e. great views!).
When I excused myself to profit from the location and take some photos around sunset, Franco kindly took me to a the roof of another house above theirs so I could get this amazing panorama.
Alas, the weather, which had been glorious for three weeks, turned! After a storm yesterday, today's efforts were somewhat thrawted by crazy, cold wind.
So, ironically, the best shot I got wasn't with my DSLR, nicely sat on my tripod but blowing in the wind, but this composite of shots I took with my phone, quickly snapped before the sun dropped and the light changed.
It won't make the calendar but at least it's a start!
Fingers crossed things will improve as the week goes on; I'll keep you posted!
