To reflect the change in viewpoint, the album meanders through many genres, including rock, blues, funk, indie, pop rock, Latin - even jazz! - whilst still sounding like one coherent piece of work.
I wrote, performed, recorded and produced everything on the album myself, from the guitars, basses and vocals to the layered drum beats, pianos, atmospheric keys and right on through to the lush orchestral parts that weave in to a few of the songs.
It was quite an undertaking - a lot of what I was attempting to do I had to learn how to do whilst I was doing it; it was quite a learning curve!
Recorded over a few periods spanning a couple of years, it was completed during lockdown in 2021 and released on Valentine's Day (February 14th) 2022, because, well, if you're going to record an album about love, it seemed like the right time to release it!
